A robot special for you this week, and we start with this one, who helps you out on this ferry in the Netherlands. Named Kai, his job is to show people around and to help them if they need it. This is just a test to see what people think of the idea. But could it be the future? I mean, they've clearly just stuck a jacket on it to try and make it seem a bit less weird. And it does seem to like waving a lot.

Next, to China, where we find robots that can help all the people out who hate chores. These robots look like they can do anything: make dinner, iron your clothes, fold your clothes, put your clothes away, tidy your toys up, clean the bathroom sink, teach you tai chi, and even give you a lift if you really need it. Hmm. Maybe I need to get one of these.

Oh, would you look at this? It's what the owners say is the first-ever robot shop. They don't just sell these human-looking robots. They sell all sorts, like this one that'll give you a back massage, or this one that will make you your favourite cup of coffee. However, this one – of a head to chat to you when you’re a bit bored – is just way too weird for me. I'm out.
