Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, born on 25 December 1876 in Karachi, belonged to a merchant family. He was sent to England at the age of 16 to study law and became the youngest Indian to qualify as a barrister at the age of 19. Returning to India, he built a successful legal career, earning a reputation for his sharp intellect, eloquence, and fairness. Initially a member of the Indian National Congress, Jinnah believed in Hindu-Muslim unity, but over time, he realized that the rights of Muslims were not being protected. He joined the All-India Muslim League in 1913 and soon emerged as its leader.

Jinnah’s leadership became most prominent during the 1940 Lahore Resolution, where the demand for a separate Muslim state was formally made. He worked tirelessly to unite Muslims across India, counter political challenges, and negotiate with British authorities for independence. His famous motto—Unity, Faith, Discipline—became a guiding principle for the new nation. Despite his deteriorating health due to tuberculosis, he continued to work for Pakistan’s establishment and stability. He became Pakistan’s first Governor-General after independence on 14 August 1947, but his health worsened, and he passed away on 11 September 1948. Today, Jinnah is remembered as a visionary leader whose determination, wisdom, and unwavering willpower made the dream of Pakistan a reality.
