How many words (English) should my child be speaking with ease by now ? she is 27 months.
Is it true that at this age (27 months) my daughter should be conversing about and / understanding COLORS & SHAPES MORE than say general Words ...?? Kindly advise, thanks.

In my opinion every child will pick up a language at a different speed. Just thinking about my daughter - in her class at nursery (where children are all the same age, by a few months) the amount of language the individual child produced varied a great deal at the age of two. Some children were communicating with single words, whilst others produced whole sentences. Now they are all aged three and a half there seems to be more of a balance. However, with your daughter I would just relax and enjoy the process of her acquiring language (both her native tongue and English). It's fascinating to watch them grow and learn, isn't it?
