Maintaining your child's English in a non-English speaking household

Many of us who are native English speakers live in a household where we speak a different language with our partners but English with our children.
As parents, how can we encourage our children to keep talking to us in English and also to maintain a good level of English in the future? Share your experience here with other parents.

I think the best way is "Speaking english the way you want the child does".
And also singing songs, listenning to the stories and rhymes and poems are good choice.
Watching cartoons or movies or reading books should be limited because they will hurt chilren's eyesight.
